ABOUT

One team, from start to finish

REMCO Inc. is an interior architecture and construction company founded in Seoul in 2010. We specialize in sports and fitness facilities, offices, beauty salons, cafes and education spaces, and we also take on new builds. We handle the whole process in sequence: site survey and planning, design and itemized estimate, construction management, final finish and handover inspection. Every crew on a project works as one REMCO and takes responsibility together. That is how we work. We work with international clients without a language barrier — everything in English, from the first site visit to the handover — and we build as a globally minded Seoul contractor.

SCOPE OF WORK

Every crew becomes one REMCO

Design, construction, finish — whichever stage a crew handles, it works under the one name REMCO. Responsibility is not split when the work moves from one trade to the next. We are accountable to the end.

01

Site survey & planning

We start with measurements and the existing condition, then align use, circulation, budget and schedule.

02

Design & estimate

You receive drawings together with an itemized estimate, broken down by trade so you can see what costs what.

03

Construction management

We manage each trade contractor directly and share progress and changes as they happen.

04

Final finish & inspection

We walk through the finish quality with you at handover. Any remaining items go on a punch list and get closed out.

FAQ

Renovating in Seoul, answered

What international clients usually ask before they start — about landlords, building rules, permits, payment and the warranty.

GETTING STARTED
Who will I be dealing with?
REMCO's own team, in English — no language barrier. One point of contact handles your project end to end: site visit, drawings, quote, schedule and problems. No translation layer, no sales agent.
How do I get a quote?
Email or message us with the address, rough size (m² or pyeong), what you want done and your ideal dates. Photos help. We then visit, measure and send an itemized quote, usually within a few working days.
Is the site visit free?
Yes, within Seoul and most of Gyeonggi-do.
What does "itemized" mean?
Every trade is listed separately — demolition, carpentry, electrical, tiling, flooring, painting, fixtures — with quantity and unit price. You can see exactly what costs what, and remove or add items before signing.
TENANTS & LANDLORDS
I'm renting. Can I renovate?
Yes, with your landlord's written consent. In Korea most leases require the unit to be returned in its original condition. We help you agree in advance which changes stay and which are reversed at move-out, and we put that in writing.
Can you talk to my landlord for me?
Yes. We explain the scope to your landlord in Korean, answer their questions and send them the drawings.
Can you restore the unit when I move out?
Yes. Make-good (원상복구) work at the end of a lease is one of our regular services, for homes and commercial spaces.
APARTMENTS & BUILDINGS
Do I need permission from the building?
Almost always. Apartment complexes and office buildings require a renovation notice to the management office, and many require signatures from neighbours. We prepare and submit this for you. Structural changes such as balcony extension also need a separate permit or report — we tell you in advance if your plan needs one.
When can you work? Noise rules?
Usually weekdays about 9:00–18:00. Saturday work is often restricted, and Sundays and holidays are not allowed in most buildings.
Can I stay at home during the work?
For a single room or a bathroom, often yes. For a full renovation, no — dust, noise and water or power cuts make it impractical.
SHOPS, CAFÉS & OFFICES
I'm opening a café, restaurant or bar. What do you handle?
The full fit-out, plus the Korean coordination around it: landlord and building approvals, electrical and gas capacity, ventilation, and the fire-safety requirements some businesses must meet before they can open. We work with licensed partners for fire-safety and gas work.
Can you help with my business permit?
The business registration and permit are filed in the owner's name, but we prepare the construction-related documents and tell you what the district office will check, so the space passes the first time.
Do you design too?
Yes — space planning, layout and material selection, with 3D views so you can see the result before we build. If you already have a designer, we build from their drawings.
CONTRACT, PAYMENT & WARRANTY
What kind of contract do I sign?
A bilingual Korean–English contract with the quote attached. The Korean text is the legal version; the English text lets you read every clause yourself.
How do I pay?
In stages, not all at once. Typically a deposit when the contract is signed, one or more progress payments as the work reaches agreed milestones, and the balance on completion and handover. The exact split is set in your contract for your project, so neither side carries the whole risk at any point. Payment is by bank transfer to our company account in Korea; prices are quoted excluding VAT (10%), and you receive a tax invoice or cash receipt for every payment.
What if I want to change something mid-way?
Tell us. We price the change and agree it with you in writing (a message is enough) before we do it. No surprise bills at the end.
How long does a job take?
Roughly: a bathroom 5–7 working days, a kitchen 5–10, a full 30-pyeong (≈100 m²) apartment 4–6 weeks, a small café 3–5 weeks. You get a day-by-day schedule with the quote, and photo updates by KakaoTalk, WhatsApp or email while we work.
Is there a warranty?
Yes — defects in our work are repaired free for one year from handover. Normal wear, misuse and defects in the building itself are excluded.
